WEATHER CONDITIONS: The first half of the spring was hotter and drier than average, the month of May instead was marked by frequent rains, which made possible the establishment of a substantial water reserve in view of what has been one of the hottest summers of the last years. Our characteristic thermal excursion, well distributed rains during the growing season and perfect conditions during the harvest time have resulted in perfect ripeness and excellent health of the grapes.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION: spontaneous fermentation last for 30/35 days in stainless steel, thanks only to our indigenous yeasts and without temperature control. Then the wine is aged for 12 months in stainless steel tanks and for further 4 months in the bottle, before being released into the market.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13,50% vol.
TASTING NOTES: Sangiovese’s typical bright, red ruby colour. High intensity olfactory impact of blackcurrant, cherry and Mediterranean maquis. In the mouth it discloses immediately great freshness and minerality, good tannins and structure, a very long finish which suggest how much the Sangiovese, also in its less elaborate expressions, has its own natural elegance and deepness. Perfect also for the summertime, served slightly colder.
