Brunello di Montalcino 2017

Techinical Sheet

PRODUCTION AREA: Two distinct vineyard plots owned by the company: Le Prata, facing south-west at an altitude above sea level of 507 meters and La Torre with a south-east exposure at 420 asl., which, after being fermented and aged individually, come to the bottle in a single solution.

GRAPES USED: 100% Sangiovese certified organic

TRAINING SYSTEM: guyot

PLANT DENSITY: 5952 vines / ha.

YIELD PER HECTARE: 55/60 quintals

PHILOSOPHY: always ambassadors of the Montalcino tradition, aimed at reflecting the elegance of the pure Sangiovese, through long spontaneous fermentations lasting 30/35 days carried out only by our native yeasts and extended aging of 40 months in big 30/50 hl barrels in Slavonian oak.
Not filtered.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: the vintage 2017 was a year of extremes, from spring frost in mid-April to the drought which marked the whole summertime. The air movement and the thermal excursions typical of the highest areas of Montalcino have shielded us from both the issues and a more regular second half of August allowed a perfect phenolic maturation and healthiness of the grapes.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14,00%

TASTING NOTES: An intense fruity nose that here at Le Potazzine we love to describe as “fancy”. In the mouth is very varietal, with notes of black-fruits supported by a well-balanced acidity, which enhances the freshness and the drinkability of this Brunello, as well as promising a very long shelf-life in the bottle.

AVAILABLE FORMATS: 0.75 l. – 1.5 l. – 3 l. – 5 l.
